The World of Merlot

October 17, 2003

We have chosen Merlot from 8 countries, from France to South Africa. Tried to be able to compare how soil, site and climate will do to the grape. For that purpose, we focused to bottles of almost 100% Merlot.
Wine A,B,C are comparatively light in style, wine D,E,F have a breath of Michelle Rolland, then wine G,H,I are rather full-bodied.
The result shows, as usual, French wines were not highly preferred here, and tendency to favor to heavyweights.
