December 3, 2004

The last tasting was held at the Restaurant Budo-ya located in OAG House - the German Cultural Institute on December 3rd. We have tried variety of Champagne and Sparkling Wines, red and white.
It was challenging because I have never heard of Janisson Baradon, I have never guessed Sofia is so dry despite of her appearance, never know how pretty new rose is with yellow, and knew red sparkling have never been good. The challenge was rewarded, always, almost. Our findings tonight were as below;
We found red vin mousseux which was ranked worst for the night, had only one person who actually ranked as the worst. So I guess it was not that bad. Janisson which was good in scarcity and Jacobs which was good at price were the fist and the second of the night by 2 points, but the price difference is about 8 times. So we know which one to choose. Points on Roederer and Sofia were kind of close. It was just 3 points, but comparing to Sofia which was morelikely ranked middle , Roederer was chosen as the first or the second by 50% of attendees and the last by 40%. I say Roederer is really the challenger of love or hate.
